Rainbow Scrappy Saturday Teal/Mint Green

Last night I found time to make ONE block--

Maybe I better try again--

Liz doesn't have a blog, but pulls out her scraps every month to use the RSC colors--

Liz made 4 patches in purple and teal.  Please see everyone's RSC posts at SoScrappy.

Thursday we were hit with heavy snow, this picture is from the beginning of the storm (there were big fat flakes falling that don't show in the picture).  We ended up with about 12" of snow.

Luckily it was heavy wet snow that won't blow.  We didn't get the terrible 60ph winds they were predicting.  Whew!

This week I also had a finish--

Billie Lauder Faux Log Cabin.  It was so much fun to make!  Its a free pattern.  This is a donation quilt--72x92" and used 12 yards of stash.  I'm making "boy quilts" for a boy's group home.  Twin size XLong beds.  Quiltville says that quilts for that size bed should be 75x90" so will try to get as close as possible.

Life is pretty quiet here.  A little stash enhancing, quilting, and reading.  How do you spend your snow days?  And if you don't have snow days--what ARE you doing?

faux log cabin? Gotta look that up. The crab is so cute! Love a drunkard path block.

That's a terrific quilt! Thanks for the link to the pattern, too - I'm filing the idea away.
I love your spiky block. (Even the mistake is cute!) I have my eye on that motif as a way of using up my leftover En Provence bits. I cut for way more triangle-in-a-squares than I needed!

I love your block! The "oops" block kind of looks like the Statue of Liberty. And congrats on the quilt finish. It looks great! Looks like you're enjoying those snow days. Right now it is 64 degrees and climbing in Delaware, so I'm a little envious. (But only a little!)

I love the "oops" block. I think we can all relate. I did that several times this week. I just kept going! I also liked the variety of pics of quilts with a little snow as well. Stay warm.

Your quilt finish is amazing - I love it! Congrats. And I love your teal block, whatever it’s called. Here in SLC we got the same heavy snow, but had terrible winds. DH took the trash out the evening before and left one of our waste baskets outside. It was gone the next day; probably in the next county, LOL!

From an artichoke to a pineapple, amazing. Like my boat turning into a house. Very nice quilt for a growing boy.

I'm surprised the storm had anything left for South Dakota, as it dumped 12 inches at my house before it headed your way!

The faux log cabin is wonderful. I love Scrappy!

It's amazing how much different 20 miles can make! We only got about 2" of snow and it melted off the streets and sidewalks right away. And today it's nearly gone except in shady spots.

Those blocks make me think of wrapped toffee pieces. So cute!

Congrats on the finish! And what do you call that spiky block? Is there a pattern somewhere?

We got a little snow here in E. Iowa last night after temps in the 60s last week. I was ready to plant the garden last week and now I feel like hibernating.

Good evening, Lori,
Wow...that is an awesome finish. Do you keep track of how many hours you put into your quilts. Such vibrant colors. Enjoy what's left of the weekend. Take care ~Natalie

p.s. I love that you know Paul and Barb!

Snow here too....I'd say at least 8" but it's settling down fast. I was enjoying the short Spring. Life here is quiet too, doing pretty much what you've been doing. I like your latest quilt, it's different and I like that. May have to look up the pattern.

Beautiful quilt Lori! I'm so glad we didn't get your snow. I'm tired of it now and so ready for spring to get here.

Thanks for posting the"oops" block! Maybe you can use that to design a new pattern. Congrats on your finish, too, it's lovely.
