I like how these look, this week I'll make more completed blocks. Each block is only about 11 inches. See everyone's design walls at Patchwork Times.
Weekly Goals--
- Lay out 36 patch blocks
- Load a top on the Princess
- 2 more yo yo blocks with sashing
Ruby the quilting dog is "my" dog. I feed her, pet her, I WANTED her and picked her out as a puppy But--her heart belong to Ken. Ruby has the peculiar habit of "guarding" Ken's shoes when he's home.
Got all the shoes in sight |
Well, I'll lay on one pair and have a pair at each end |
I wish she'd put that camera down--I'm busy here! |
OK--I'll ignore her. |
BLISS!! |
But her favorite spot in laying on his feet. Whenever he puts his shoes on she anxiously awaits being invited along. She's very polite, she isn't pushy and waits to be asked. And when he leaves her behind there is much sighing and flopping down in disappointment. She doesn't pay any attention when he leaves for work--she knows the difference. If he is asleep (Ken works nights) and I'm in the sewing room--she lays in the hall looking both ways--she's always anxious about keeping her flock together. And when Ken leaves she trots down to the sewing room and comes in to check on me--then lays in the hallway by me. If Laura Beth and Nick are here with the boys--she does lots of getting up and finding a better vantage point to keep track of all of us!
Its COLD tonight, low of 18F and only in the 30's tomorrow. BRrrrr!!!! Its good sewing weather.

What a great raft of yoyo's you have produced! And I like the way you have defined each block with a single colorway, good job.
But I was captivated by your story of Ruby. I thoroughly enjoy dogs and looking at all the Ruby pictures definitely lowered my blood pressure, thanks!
I love all those fun yoyos. The orange block reminds me of blobs of yummy frosting.
Your dog is so cute. He must have a shoe fetish.
How big is your yo-yo coverlet going to be? Ruby looks like she comes from herding stock, maybe she needs a pet of her own. ♥
Your yo-yo quilt is amazing! You can add a batch of cookies to your list only if you send some to me (just kidding).
It's cold here today too, but not quite that cold. I did have to turn on the heat when I got up!
What a great use of yo-yos. I can't imagine making all of them but you are doing such a great job of making them really shine.
The yoyos are fabulous! Each so perfect. :)
I am in love with Ruby. There is something about her eyes. I would have picked her too.
Adorable, both the quilt and the dog.
If she guards the shoes he can't sneak out without her. Smart dog. Our cat does the same thing - laying in a place where he can keep tabs on both of us. But if the kids are here he hides under the middle of our bed where no dogs or kids can reach him.
I love your yo yo's! And I admire your dedication. I have some sitting around and about once a year I work on them. Sighhh, it will be a long time before I have enough to do anything with. Toni
Ruby guards the shoes so she won't be left behind. ;oD
She reminds me of my nephew's dog - Rowdy, who is just as devoted to his master.
Great job on the yo-yo blocks.
What a sweetie!
Love these, love Ruby, love you
Wonderful yo-yos!
Such a good dog. She looks so sweet.
Love your Yo yos might have to start one too! How come Ruby is not wearing "SPANDEX" like my cats? lol. She is a cutie. Molly likes to keep an eye on my shoes and hubby's pillows.
He had surgery last week, she kept his pillows fluffed.

Neat yoyos. Love the dog story. Luckily mine doesn't heard us but he does spread his interest between hubby and I. Yea for getting goals done! I like to post mine each week too.
The yo-yos are fabulous! Love your story about Ruby. I am a sucker for dog stories.
I love the photos of Ruby, It looks like she might be afraid you are going to take her shoes from her. LOL
Ruby is a sweetie! We have had dogs in the family that choose their person. Ruby looks like a herding breed - so makes sense what she is doing. My sister has a mini Australian Shepherd and we often joke that she would be much happier if we just got her a flock of chickens to herd around! Cheers! Evelyn
Ruby is adorable! Funny how she guards the shoes; I've never seen a dog do that. Libby was always my dog, but Tandi belongs to both of us.
The yoyos are great! Not my cup of tea--yet--but they are cool!
Yo yos are cool but the dog is a treasure!
