Weekly Goals & Some Pictures

Time to check on my goals--
  1. One YoYo block--in progress
  2. One side of binding sewn down--in progress
  3. Work on a UFO--nope
Yesterday it rained off and on all day--

Rain is almost always welcome in the summer.  Right now we're nice and green.

Down by Maintenance a Kildeer had a nest.  To keep from accidentally running over it they put a small steel fence post.  Every day someone would drive by to check it.  The eggs are laid on the bare ground--its very hard to see it.  Karla and I just happened to drive by when one egg had hatched.

Very hard to see the babies on the ground.  The parents were VERY upset--fluttering around us doing the distracting "broken wing--come eat me" dance.

There were 3 eggs--we only saw one chick and one egg didn't hatch.  We really weren't that close--Karla has a very good zoom lens on her camera.

This year I had a flower bed beside my camper.  I put in petunias, pansies, coxcomb, verbena, and glads.  Then I planted some seeds--morning glory, moonflowers, sweet peas, and zinnias.  I call it the "Green Volcana"--

About 5.5 feet tall.  Its a bit overfull!  Amazing what water and fertilizer will do.

Sometimes the daily police report is a bit humerous--

Really??  I can't believe someone actually called the police on this.

Hmmm, an interesting police report. Someone is clueless.

It has been raining off and on here, too, which makes me very happy.

Here's to a good week.

I laughed out loud at the duck story. Too funny! I too am enjoying all of the green around here instead of our usual August brown. The rain has been lovely.

Lovely rain - we actually had one inch at one time, and NO hail!!! LOVE the pictures of little birds, and brave Mom. Embarrassing about the news clipping - yes, small towns, ours as well, occasionally print similar. Whatever did Mother Nature do before humans?

Happy Quilting!

The flower volcano is beautiful! I wish we had a little more rain and a little less heat out here in Utah. At least we have not had the usual forest fires. Beautiful little birds.
