Diplomacy---skill in managing negotiations, handling people, etc., so that there is little or no ill will; tact:
Ken and I have been married 32 years. Not long ago I had tried a new recipe. A new recipe is not always a success! As Ken was valiantly eating I asked if he liked the new dish? His answer --"well, if you don't like it you don't have to make it again for me!" Now that's diplomacy!

I can just hear him saying that too, of course the fact that you were standing behind him with a hot cast iron frying pan in your hand was probably some small incentive for some sincere diplomacy.
Brilliant response!
He sounds like a keeper!
At least you weren't feeding him the picture from the last post, he he he
That's a good line - I'll have to remember that to tell myself when I try new recipes!
On the next post, I saw the white tub that you were dyeing fabric? It looks just like the bath tub that Mom had to put us kids in. And I found a little floating thermometer that she must have used.
Of course, I brought them down with me. They'll get to the historical museum for the 50's kitchen display, but I think i'll be able to use that tub for some soaking and washing.
