Relaxing Sunday

Another beautiful day.  75F with a breeze.   Ken came down to the camper because he had a combine part ordered and you KNOW what happened.  Half the parts aren't here.  He wanted to go home, but now is waiting until tomorrow since the other part should arrive then.

Last week we had a few days that looked like this---

photo from internet

Very windy!!   We were "unseasonably cold" and now we are "unseasonably warm".    I LIKE it!!

I have a whine.  If you don't want to hear it--that's ok!!  Skip this part!  We have a few apple trees on our farm.   (We live in town now--but still have the farm)  Tuesday Ken said my little apple tree had lots of nice apples on it--should he pick them for me?  Yes!  Two days later Ken went back with boxes and buckets.  Someone stole EVERY LAST APPLE!  This is the 2nd time--last time they cleaned off my big Granny Smith tree.  There were plenty of apples--if someone had asked I know we would have shared them.  I just don't understand the greediness.

Greed and ignorance! Some people would just assume since you are not there, then the apples are up for grabs. Very greedy indeed.

That is not a whine or even a rant.

They were very good apples indeed the last time I saw that tree. I remember eating one right off the tree, crisp and so crunchy.

I still think you should let me set up a remote webcam there, it would solve the mystery of vanishing tractor parts and diesel too.

Maybe putting up a sign on the tree that they belong to you and you have plans to use them.

Personally, I really hate it when good fruit goes to waste and no one claims it, but I wouldn't steal it myself. Many people might think they would go to waste. Ya think??? '

I'd be mad too.

Good afternoon, Lorie,
Yes, we have had some wind here, but for the most part it has been beautiful. I can't believe someone has stolen all of your apples...the nerve!!

Enjoy the lovely autumn weather we are having. ~Natalie

Yes beautiful weather today. I went to my 3rd grade grandson's football game this afternoon. He plays on a team at the Y in Norfolk.

There are some nervy people around. Let's hope every apple was infected with apple maggot and all their stealing was for nothing. Oh yeah, and that they got two flat tires going home!!

That's not whiny... what they did was very selfish! Maybe Henrietta is right about the webcam.

did they have to swim a moat, climb a wall and jump an electric fence to get to the trees??

maybe next time they SHOULD have to!!

That just sucks!

Oh, my gosh! I can't believe they stole any, let alone *all* of them! That's just meanness.

Go for the webcam next time.
