I usually hang my tops with their backings before quilting. Why? Umm--once in a while I measure wrong (I've always said I'm bad with numbers) and its "seeing is believing". If my backing is a bit bigger than the top--I'm OK. How much bigger is enough??--I use 10% as a guideline.
Goals for this week--
- Quilt Blue Urban Cabin
- Load another top
- Sew more countries on Plaid 4 Patch
- Make two bindings
Yes, that should keep me busy.
Do you have your week planned??

I do have my week planned...luckily I've accomplished just about everything that was on my list this month so it won't be too busy.
I've only run into trouble with a backing being too small when someone else has sent it and I assumed it was the right size. Luckily I was able to find instructions online for adding more backing while the quilt is still on the longarm.
I love your Anita's Arrowhead! I have noticed a few bloggers with weekly goals and need something to keep my mind from wondering off to start a new one. Thanks for your inspirations .... I have been a fan for a while now.
Oooh, how fun to see your LA in action. I predict lots of quilting happening at your house this week. ;oD
Your urban country quilt top is lovely. Can't wait to see it all quilted up! Great idea with the top/backing hanging. I'm a visual girl too.
Both quilts are lovely. I would love to know what sort of contraption you have hanging up your the quilt.
I'm visual, like you are, too. Your quilts are very pretty! Love reading your blog.
Love the urban cabins, can't wait to see how you quilt it.
Is it just me or do you seem to get even MORE done when Henrietta is there??
You two must be whirling dervishes together! lol
Where did you get such a great bargain?
