Two new album blocks were made this week--

Indigo/black blocks

I like blocks with black in them.  Almost a restful change from all the other colors I use.  Please see everyone's design wall at SoScrappy.

Tuesday Design Wall

Tuesday, August 18, 2015
I've been MIA the last week.  Mason came to visit and then the rest of the family arrived and camped over the weekend.  I played with Nick and Laura Beth's smoker--a chicken, ribs, pork chops and a rolled pork roast all were cooked.  Tasted retty good, I'm going to try doing some more this week.  A few pics--

Asher with Rocks
What's the most fun while camping?  Playing with the rocks!  They are scoopable and Grandma plays too.  Mason and I had a "pajama day"--he played games on this tablet and I sewed.

I was able to finish a few projects.  The flag wall hanging--

And a UFO wall hanging from Pat I finished--

Enlarge the pic, I am the quilter in the lower left corner.  3.5yds of stash used.  Please see everyone's Design Wall Posts at Patchwork Times.

I was able to watch the smoker from my recliner in the camper--

I took Mason to the beach--

Mason missed his brother Asher, there was no one to play with!

I was in Parkston on Monday and visited my stash, a large box of fabric came back with me.  I also checked my flowers, the morning glory vines are taking over the deck----

The flower beds are becoming a jungle.

I did a little shopping and found shoes I liked.  I wanted short black boots with closed toes and smooth leather.  These are as close as I think I'll get--

This week is River Boat Days.  3 days of volunteering and Laura Beth, Nick, and boys will be here for the weekend.

Design Wall Monday and Weekly Goals

Monday, August 10, 2015
The flag wall hanging needs to be finished this week--

I think I will have the binding match the edges, it will take a bit longer but I don't think it will be too hard.  Famous last words maybe!  Please see everyone's design wall posts at Patchwork Times.

Weekly Goals--

Finish Flag Wall Hanging
Finish Binding Purple Wall Hanging
RSC Monkey Wrench/9 Patch blocks

Need to pick up the pace, I was crowned UFO Queen on Stashbusters Yahoo group.  I have a week to produce a UFO finish or pay a FQ penalty.  A FQ penalty is no big deal, its the PRINCIPLE of the challenge!

Sunday Stash Report

Sunday, August 9, 2015
Oh, it was a great week!  I found lots of fabrics to add to my stash.  One order came in the mail, and I shopped while on a weekend girls trip.  At least 30 yards have been added.  The new numbers are--

Stash in this week--30 yards
Stash in YTD--228.25 yards
Stash out this week--0 yards
Stash out YTD--162.5 yards

Stash is ahead 65.75 yards!

Please see everyone's stash report at Patchwork Times.

A few pictures from my trip-

We stopped at the Quilted Moose in Gretna Ne.  They have a wonderful selection of Civil War Reproductions--

This shop was in Walnut Iowa--

We also did a little of this--

 And this--

We stayed in downtown Omaha and walked to many fun shops, restraurants, and Saturday was a Farmer's Market.  This car caught my eye--I'd love to have one--

I LOVE a little Zoom Zoom car!

Rainbow Scrappy Saturday

Saturday, August 8, 2015
A few more blocks--

The last of the reds mixed with some blacks and gray.  A few light monkey wrenches for variety.  Please see what everyone has been working on at SoScrappy.

Thursday a priority mail box was waiting for me.

You can see I opened it immediately!  Inside was a LOT of fabric!

Look at all of it!  A wonderful variety, lots of fondling and petting of fabric!  I was as happy as a cat in a bed of catnip!  How much was in the box?  I weighed it--9#--or close to 30 yards.  Why did I get it?  A challenge with a few friends.  We sent one person three fabrics to be used in a quilt.  The three I received are these--

Oranges and browns and golds and greens!  Some of my FAVORITE colors.   I especially love paisley.  The challenge is to use the three fabrics in a project.  It has to be at least 40" square.  That's it.  Isn't it a great challenge??!!   And since I didn't pay anything for this fabric I won't put it on my stash report.  Don't worry, I bought plenty of fabric last week.
